For anyone who has ever worked in post-production, you know that you can keep editing forever. There is not one perfect sequence for a film. You can keep tweaking shots. You can change the music. But eventually, you have to say “enough is enough” and be done. Put your film out into the world and move on to the next project.
Davinci said, “art is never finished, only abandoned.” After many years as a filmmaker and editor, I have finished (abandoned) many projects. Every now and then I look back at some of my older videos expecting to cringe, yet somehow I'm usually delightfully surprised. With time comes clarity. “Oh this is actually pretty good! It’s not as bad as I remember.”
Finishing (or abandoning) a project takes a LOT of work. You're going to get frustrated. You're going to have times where you love the film and can't wait to show the world. And those times will be immediately followed by painful feedback that makes you want to throw in the towel. You have some so close. Media Mentors is here to take you the last step of your journey. You wrote the script, you filmed the footage, now you just have to finish editing. You can do it! We can help.
